(Excerpt from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry 'IT Introduction Subsidy 2021 Website' Project Overview)

General Category (Types A and B)

The IT Introduction Subsidy supports the operational efficiency and sales growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses by subsidizing a portion of the costs for introducing IT tools that match their specific challenges and needs.
The purpose is to help you improve and strengthen your management capabilities, such as operational efficiency and increased sales, by recognizing and analyzing your company's strengths and weaknesses from your current environment, and introducing IT tools that match your identified management issues and needs.

Low Infection Risk Business Category (Special Category: Types C and D)

The Low Infection Risk Business Category (Special Category: Types C and D) is designed to provide priority support with higher subsidy rates than the General Category (Types A and B) for small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses that are working to transform their business models to adapt to the post-COVID situation while the COVID-19 pandemic continues, by improving labor productivity and adopting non-face-to-face business practices that reduce opportunities for interpersonal contact in the workplace that could lead to infection risks.
